This space in time between Christmas and New Year always feels like life is in limbo. With the holiday celebrations basically over, it often feels like the world is simply holding its breath for a week before a new year arrives and everyone sighs with relief that they can move on with new goals and plans in the new year. (Maybe that’s just me?)
I have, however, spent some time contemplating knitting goals I want to accomplish this next year. There’s a whole popular “Make 9” spread others use to show the 9 things they want to knit in the new year, but I find that to be a bit ambitious when I have a full-time job, a child, and college studying to do. And, frankly, I often feel that we all try too hard to cram as much in a short window of time as we can which just stresses us out more.
So, with that, I opted to just select my top 4 projects I want to get done this year. That’s about 1 a quarter, which is a far cry from what I used to get done pre-kid, but it’s a good target to keep me enjoying this passion of mine rather than setting myself up to fail.
And, bonus, two of these are already in progress, so they’re simply goals to finish what I already started!
On tap this year is:
What do you hope to make, or want to learn to make in 2020?
