Are you all ready to pick up some needles and learn to knit? I sure hope so, because knitting classes are finally coming back! That’s right – after months of trying to balance work, college, motherhood, and the overall stress from the pandemic, life has seemed to calm down enough that I can teach again!
I’ve been working on a few new class ideas beyond the beginning knitting class to help you expand your skill set, and I hope you’re ready to ride out the rest of this pandemic with needles in hand because we’re going to have SO much fun!
First up, HATS! What’s better to work on before the long winter than warm, cozy, hand-knit hats! This class is a great next step if you’ve already taken my beginning knitting class and are ready to take on something a bit more challenging. This class teaches you:
- How to use double-pointed needles
- How to knit in the round
- How to decrease
PLUS we’re pairing up some fantastic color-changing yarn, including an aptly named “Columbus” colorway for Buckeyes fans, with a coordinating faux fur pompom to put the finishing touch on your newest knit piece.
Stay tuned for a class on my absolute favorite project to knit: SOCKS! I’m still trying to figure out the best way to run this one to maximize time and help you get the basics down, but once I get the plan in place we’ll be posting it up and opening registrations.
I also have some ideas in the works for colorwork projects (perfect to get your feet wet before taking on a pair of warm mittens for winter), and maybe even a cute ornament or two for the holidays!
Virtual knit group via Zoom will be coming back soon, too! There was a lot to balance earlier this year, with school and work and the pandemic and motherhood, etc. But I’ll be bringing that back next month, as well, and will keep you posted on the upcoming dates!
