Here’s a little bit of inspiration for you: The Little Mountain Beanie & Cowl by Sandra A James (Etsy link – Ravelry Link)!
When I opened up the box of the recently-added Ella Rae Seasons yarn, I knew I needed to knit something up with it to show off the fun color changes of the yarn. While scouring Ravelry one day, not really looking for a project, in particular, I stumbled across this pattern and KNEW I needed to make it with this yarn.
My version of the hat uses 1 skein of Berroco Vintage Chunky in color #6108/Stone, and 1 skein of Ella Rae Seasons in color #32/Natural, Orange, & Dark Magenta. Paired together, you get this lovely neutral base that offsets the ombre yarn gorgeously! Add one of the faux fur pompoms and you’ve got a great new winter hat to keep for yourself or to gift to someone you know!
Here’s some great color coordinating options to help get you dreaming a bit…
The supplies for this project run about $20.25 total if you get both yarns and a faux fur pom. PLUS you *should* have enough yarn leftover (depending on your gauge and how many repeats you make on your hat) to make the coordinating cowl that comes with the pattern, making it a great and affordable project!
Snag your yarns here:
- Faux Fur Pom Poms$3.50
- Berroco Vintage Chunky$9.50
