Looking for something pretty quick to knit? Love headwraps and bands in the winter? Check out The Ethel from The Knitting Primate!
This project is a bit more adventurous than it might look at first. Utilizing a provisional cast on and i-cord to start it off for the buttonhole, you then work increases to widen the band before jumping into a fun twisted stitch pattern. Then, you’ll switch to decreases and bind off, where you’ll then sew on a button and weave in your ends! Don’t let any of that intimidate you, though! Once you get going, you’ll breeze through and have a fun accessory for these cold winter days before you know it!
This particular pattern calls for sport weight yarn, but I subbed that out for Deluxe Worsted from Universal Yarn using the same needle size and ended up with nice, thick fabric to keep my ears toasty warm in this cold winter weather. You could even double-strand your yarn with some mohair/silk for an extra luxurious headband, if you’re so inclined!
