Need something somewhat mindless but, you know, not so mindless that you get bored with it? This Touchstone Shawl might be just the thing! Knit with swaths of garter stitch and then occasional lace stripes in a contrasting color, this shawl knits up relatively quickly and easily. Intimidated by lace? This is a perfect project to dabble into it! You get a taste of lace knitting on those contrast panels but, in my opinion, in nice little bite sized chunks that way, in case you make a mistake, you’re not having to rip out the whole shawl and can just “tink” (un-knit) back to the beginning of the lace panel and start again (if needed).
I knit my shop version with a skein of yarn from Created 4U By Laura and paired it with a skein of Berroco Ultra Wool Fine in Matcha, but I’ve put together a few other options using some of the gorgeous indie dyed yarns on the shelves here at the shop to spark a bit of inspiration for you.
Or, if none of these strike your fancy, send me a message and I’ll do a virtual shopping appointment with you and help you pick out something you’ll love!
