Description
Get ready to level-up your lace knitting skills this year with our lace knit-a-long!
We’ll be using the “A Fine Lace Snack” pattern from A Passion For Lace to work through 10 different lace charts, giving you great bite-sized almost-instant-gratification knitting to learn on! After, you’ll block and join them all together with i-cord to create a fun decorative banner to hang up for whatever occasion you’d like! Make one in a rainbow of colors to pull out at birthday parties, choose purple, orange, green, and charcoal for Halloween, or even red, green, and cream for a fun holiday bunting! Once you’re comfortable with the lace stitches on sock yarn, sizing down to true lace yarn and smaller needles will be a breeze!
Participation in this knit-a-long has two options:
- If you’re a pro knitter and just want to play along, head over to Ravelry to grab your pattern and plan to join us online in our shop Facebook Group to show off progress, share pictures, etc.
- If you’re learning new techniques, and foresee needing more hands-on help, we’re hosting a once-a-month KAL session in-store on the 4th Sunday of each month thru October. There is a $15 fee for each session, which covers in-store lesson and any additional project help you need for this pattern throughout the month.
Dates: 4th Sunday of each month, 12:30pm thru October 2025
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials required:
- “A Fine Lace Snack” pattern from A Passion For Lace pattern
- Solid or tonal fingering/sock yarns in your choice of colors*
- Size 4/3.5mm knitting needles (straight or circular, whatever your preference)
- Stitch markers
- Waste yarn for optional lifelines
* You’ll need roughly 30 yards per triangle. If you’re really new to lace knitting, I highly recommend avoiding black or darker colors so you can “read” your stitches and lace a bit better.
