After a little hiccup with the sleeve length, I am finally chugging away on the second sleeve on my Throwback cardigan. Well, let’s use “chugging away” loosely here because I’m more like knitting at a snail’s pace this week on it. Knitting has happened on it. A row here and there, really. But not the progress I wanted (which was to be done already).
It just hasn’t been a great week, so far, for knitting time. Life has gone back to a normal routine, my final college class has begun this week, and I’m still working on adjusting Declan to a normal schedule with preschool again after the holidays off. Also, I have not yet taken down my holiday decor. I keep trying, but it turns out my child loves all the lights up and I just don’t have the energy to argue with him on top of everything else we’re collectively going through. So it’s all still up. I don’t mind, really – there’s this full season of glitter and lights and festivities for what feels like months on end and then suddenly it all just… stops in the middle of a dark, cold winter. So I can’t really blame him for wanting to keep everything up and not let go of that cozy glow in the house.
